Back Again...Again

Well, it's been 6 months since I've written anything. This has been a busy year. I started substitute teaching. I missed my kids. They were funny 6th graders out to prove something then. Now, I don't even want to publicly mention what I think...
My own little G's have grown up so quickly. 1, 4, 5. Gabi has asked for an iPhone, Facebook page, and email address. Nevermind that she isn't a fluent reader. She will be. Then Cameron came for the summer. That did it! She thinks she is the same age as big brother, who by the way is 13 and looks 17!
This summer we have made peanut butter fudge, painted and colored our way through countless packs of construction paper, gone to story time and read over 25 books, gone to the water park, the farmer's market, you name it, we've done it! Gabi has gotten over her fear of fireworks got so comfortable she waved sparklers for 2 days-looking like a mini Statue of Liberty. GiGi was not trying to hear it. Gracie is walking, climbing and destroying everything in her path.
So now that the girls are a bit older, it is time for mommy to start doing some adult things again-without them and because I've been home with them a year and a half, it is serious business trying to get them to realize that I don't have to be there with them at all times. This summer has been the worst. 24 hours non stop with mommy. Thank God school starts in a few weeks.
I am starting school myself next month and sub as well. The girls are changing schools. The goal for this fall is Independence. My goal for myself is Re-establishing ME!

Mommy has been so busy

After. Don't ask why, they posted backwards!!!

Before
Today, I wrapped myself for the 3rd time this month. I have been taking pictures before and after each event. Unfortunately, Friday I discovered the USB plug would no longer fit the camera! To make matters worse, as I was pulling clothes from the washer, guess what fell out??? The camera! OH NO!
We've had snow. We've had a teething baby. An evening program by the PK 3, Mocha Moms meetings, housework, now a super clean probably non functioning camera!!!
I do have pictures of the very first time I wrapped in October...If and when the camera/memory card come to life- I'll post updated pics.

Day 1 With The Ultimate Body Wrap

Today I began my 30 days with the Ultimate Body Applicator. I will be wearing an abdomen wrap once a week for 45 minutes to an hour for the next 30 days. I'm not sure what kind results I will have. Considering I had my 3rd c-section in June and have measurable scar tissue, there's only going to be so much to reduce.

Nevertheless, I wore the wrap today. I began by taking my measurements:

upper abdomen, waist, and lower abdomen. Before the wrap the measurements were: 29, 34, and 35 respectively. Afterwards: 29, 32, and 34. My starting weight is 127 pounds. We'll see what my weight and measurements are at the end of the 30 days.

I've been told that sometimes there is measurable inch loss next morning as well. We'll see. I did nothing extraordinary. Most people who use this product are participating in a regular exercise regimen or at least dieting. Considering I have 3 children that are 5 and under, I figure that's plenty of exercise. My husband cooked a big seafood dinner tonight, so, the three inches lost might have been in vain. Because I knew I was starting my 30 days, I did not do a lot of extra snacking and nibbling and drank a lot of water.

If I were interested in actually losing some weight, the Thermogenics pills would be the perfect companion as they are fat blockers. Because the body applicators can only be worn every 72 hours, the defining gel is the perfect partner as it can be applied daily- in between wraps.

Next week I'll begin sending out salon packs inviting salon owners to fill their retail space with It Works! products...

Changing My Focus

I've been pretty lax when it came to updating my blog and for a good while, stopped altogether. Then I became a distributor for It Works! I have recently purchased the domain names, http://www.3gsmommy.biz/ and http://www.3gsmommy.info/ for my It Works! businesses and I also have a twitter account by the same name. To further promote the business, I joined a few groups on Facebook advertising the Ultimate Body Applicator. Now that I am getting some interest, it's time for me to get followers and start showing them that It Works! is not just a name, but the truth.

So, starting tomorrow, for the next 30 days, I am going to use 1 body wrap per week to tighten and tone my tummy and record how many inches I lose. As I promote my business, I'll still be managing and maintaining a household of 3 girls and a football coach husband, doctor's appointments, therapy appointments, and establishing the Central Arkansas Chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc. presence in the state. My journey in 2010 should be interesting...

Educational Dilema

It's time to start thinking pre-registration for the upcoming school year. I love my kids' school just because of the social gains they've made in their first year of school. However, after teaching in a public school in the primary grades and teaching children to read through Reading First, the ABEKA program is leaving me a little dissatisfied. Everyone knows that children succeed more when their parents work with them at home. However, working with them at home when you ae doing the opposite of what they are learning in school screws them more. Trying to teach the girls word families and chunks is confusing the heck out of them because of the blends they learn at school: ta, te, ti,to, tu- ma, me, mi, mo, mu. What???

I've been following a few of the homeschool moms and like what I see as far as what the kids are learning. But the interaction my girls get from going to school is teaching them to be less dependent on mommy. I am all for homeschooling if that's what works, and perhaps that is where we will ultimately end up. But they enjoy the routine of going to school and I must say-I appreciate it as well. I will just have to keep looking for that place that offers a small class size, educationally stimulating environment that is child friendly and encouraging. After saying all that, looks like the choices are slim!

I've been away so long

Well, here we are-2010. I've been away since September. Raising kids and enjoying my family. I've been so busy, but I've decided this is going to be one of my New Year's Resolutions: Keeping the blog updated.

Everyone is healthy. I've started a new business. I am now an It Works! distributor. Me and two other friends have just chartered the first Arkansas chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc. and we will be having our first meeting next week. Hopefully that will go well.
I am going to start substitute teaching soon. That will get me back in the classroom but still give me flexibility to make all of our standing therapy and doctor's appointments. Speaking of which, I have to get ready to go to one now...

Settling into a routine?

Okay! It's been quite sometime since I've last blogged. But I'm back. Gracie has been home from the hospital for 2 months. Gabi and GiGi are going to pre school, everyone's doctor's visits and lab work has been favorable. So, now I am just getting used to the routine of getting everyone up, dressed and out the door in time. Honey, who is normally habitually late is now beating us out the door-leaving me to get everyone loaded into the car. Do you know how hard it is to put 3 kids into 3 carseats in the back of a Saturn Vue? I imagine the girls know what it feels like to be a sardine... well they would if they knew what a sardine was.

This week I decided to set goals and direct my focus in my candle biz and take Tempting Scents in a new direction. At this point any direction would be great because it's been dormant for a few months. I have placed an order and will be creating Parties In A Bag for my hostesses. Hopefully this will generate some sales and possibly some recruits as well. I have 12 holiday scents in each bag so that potential customers can get in the holiday spirit. Harvest Time and Pumpkin Cheesecake should really get some shoppers. This way I won't have to take time away from the girls. They can ride with me when I make deliveries.

In the meantime, I am going to be working on some otherways to generate business/recruits. Wish me luck!
